Rush Limbaugh: School Yard Bully

An eleven year old kid, Marcelas Owens, has been promoting the Democrat’s health care bill lately. He makes the reasonable argument that if it had been around a few years ago, his mother would have had more access to the health care she needed to deal with a condition that claimed her life. But the incredibly polarized partisan politics we have in the US ensures that reasonable arguments will be met with unreasonable retorts like this one from Rush Limbaugh:

And, I would say this to Marcelas Owens : ‘Well, your mom would still have died, because Obamacare doesn’t kick in until 2014.’

It would seem one thing Limbaugh has against the health care bill is that it doesn’t legislate the use of resurrection or other means to improve people’s health retroactively. Any reasonable person on either side of the health care debate will conclude that the claim is a completely unreasonable one that has no place in a well informed debate. If Limbaugh agrees to that statement, then he must be trying to make Owens cry until he no longer publicly speaks out in favor of the bill. So much for a civil debate based on reason.

In any case, Limbaugh is pretty old to be bullying kids in elementary school.
